The objective of the workshop is to investigate detection techniques, design
aspects and electronic and readout solutions for a future Very Large Volume
water Cherenkov Neutrino Telescope (VLV νT) in the Mediterranean Sea.
The workshop
aims to create a foundation for a technical design for the VLV νT so that
the final design can be ready by 2005. Therefore, the workshop will concentrate
on techniques that are expected to be available in due time and assess their
feasibility, their optimisation for the VLV νT, their cost effectiveness and
their R&D needs for the VLV νT.
